National Academy of Agriculture Research
Management (NAARM) has started two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management
(Agriculture), approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). This
course was the 3rd academic and first two years course offered by
Academy after PGD-IPTMA. 1st and 2nd batches of Post
Graduate Diploma in Management (Agriculture) completed their course and working
in various agri. & allied sector organizations. The 3rd and 4th fourth
batch is pursuing Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Agriculture). The activities of the Academy cover a broad
range of themes in three key areas as Agricultural systems management &
policies, Information & communication management and Human resources
management. The services of the Academy are sought nationally as well as
globally for enhancing individual and institutional performance and for
organizational renewal and change

Business Analytics using SAS.

management and entrepreneurship-through an understanding of the industry of the
industry dynamics of technological innovation, valuation and business model
development.
Admission
to the program and Students:
Post
Graduate Diploma in Management (Agriculture) students, are selected on all India basis through a written test,
followed by Group Discussion and Personnel Interview (GD&PI) conducted by
Academy.
The first batch of PGDMA (2009-11) has 24 students had been admitted
in 2009 and successfully completed their course. Brief of 1st batch students and

The
second batch of PGDMA (2010-12) has 20 students. All the students have

Curriculum
Design:
The course curriculum was designed and
developed in deliberations with many senior executives from various sectors of
agribusiness agri-business industry, retails, banking and finance, academicians
and policy-makers in government.
Apart from
the inhouse faculty several industry related business veterans are been called
as guest faculty. The academic faculty for the contact classes is drawn from academy
and various sources including research/industry/business/public-and-private-sectors.
The programme contents were designed to expose the prospective students to
concepts of Agribusiness management in agriculture, real life challenges
through case studies from working professionals industry.

During
internship, students/NAARMIANS underwent rigorous training under the guidance
of functional area experts in the corporate. Students learnt many additional
skills and expertise required to be successful in the real-life work
atmosphere. At the end of internships, students prepared a report and submitted
the certificate received from the internship provider organization, which was
considered as a satisfactory remark of assigned project completion.

students have changes their first placement provider organizations; we will be

The
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Agriculture) course is going on and students
are doing really well and getting recognition & awards in their
organizations. We are proud on them. It is true that, we are not able to meet
them as frequently, but they are in our professional and personnel touch. We
are seeking their advice/guidance/expert comments in various matters and will
be continuing the same in coming years.
